“The Outcast”

“The Outcast”– based on other old pics I’ve seen, this hot rod may have belonged to Ed “Isky” Iskederian– also known as “The Camfather.” Isky started racing at Bonneville back in 1950, and soon became a legend. After returning home from WWII, Isky resumed racing and started grinding cams in his garage, more of an art than a science in those days, and they became one of the top performance cams around.

If you ever get the chance to go to the BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials, one of the best places to watch the spectacle is beside the five-mile point, where the racers scream past with their throttles wide open.  You are guaranteed a fun time and an incredible experience, but don’t forget to pack your sun block and lip salve, you have been warned!

So-Cal Coupe

Probably no race car in existence has been campaigned as long and as hard as this chopped and channeled ’34 Ford. The men who had a part in this old hot rod’s evolution, preservation, and triumphs, as well as the lives it touched along the way, are unequaled in racing. Undefeated in drag racing and a record holder at Bonneville, Hot Rod magazine dubbed it the “Double-Threat Coupe” way back in 1954.

Ducati Monster S4RS Bonneville Edition

Este americano con su Ducati Monster S4RS, preparada para cazarecords en el lago salado de Bonneville, competía en la categoría 1000 A-AG, categoría de motos modificadas de gasolina, sin turbocompresor , parece ser que ha roto un record, que permanecía inalterado desde el 75, marcando 267 km/h.

Bonneville ha entrado a formar parte de la historia por tratarse de un lugar dónde cada año se reúnen los amantes de la velocidad para tratar de batir un nuevo récord, y dónde lo novedoso son las características del lugar, un antiguo lago convertido en superficie salina.
 Muchos han sido los pilotos que han puesto a prueba la fiabilidad de sus ruedas en esta superficie salina tratando de hacerse un hueco en la historia.
