The organization started to produce Rolex watch in 1905 by Hendes and Aldsdorf brother of their wife, they began importing Swiss wrist watches to England and set them in luxurious boxes and sell them to jewelry retailers,
where goldsmiths add their own names on brought in watches . it was
Aldsdorf as well as Davis add “W & D” on the containers “W & D”
stands for the first 2 characters of the organization Aldsdorf and Davis.
In 1908, Hendes and Aldsdorf record the company name
Rolex and also the `derivation of the name continues to be a mystery,
although some individuals believed that the title is derived from the
French “horlogerie exquise” which means “wonderful collection of
watches”.
