Identify a Buick V-6 Engine?

In 1962, Buick introduced the 196-cubic-inch "Fireball" engine, the first American V-6 to be offered on a modern production vehicle. Buick then developed the 225- and 231-cubic-inch V-6 engines. In 1966, Buick sold the V-6 rights to Kaiser-Jeep, who built versions of the 225-cubic-inch V-6 for its Jeeps. In 1974, Buick bought back the V-6 rights and produced several gas and diesel engines, including the 3.8-liter, 231-cubic-inch engine; a 4.1-liter, 256-cubic-inch engine; and a 4.3-liter engine. These Buick V-6 engines can be easily identified by locating the casting numbers found on the engine block.
